Catamaran Helm Comparisons

The Antares 44i catamaran has the best designed and most complete helm of any cruising catamaran. No other cruising catamaran has a standard 12" chart plotter. Only the Antares offers a complete engine instrumentation panel at the helm. No other cruising catamaran offers a glass windshield with wipers, and a full enclosure. |
| |
The poor layout of this competitor's helm station includes a steering wheel typically found on a powerboat and minimal engine instruments in hard to read locations. |
Other than tachometers, there are no other engine gauges. The "flying bridge" helm location not only isolates you from dock access, it offers very little weather protection.
This helm is positioned in an exposed area and offers no weather protection. There is very little engine instrumentation and it's difficult to see where you would place a chart plotter. |
Enclosure Comparisons

The full enclosure on the Antares 44 is NOT an afterthought. From day one, the boat was designed to accommodate a removable weather enclosure coordinated with a permanent hardtop.
The enclosure creates a large, separate living area for all weather conditions, and provides a protected helm position. |
There are a lot of boats built for vacations. This enclosure is ideal for sun protection but is inefficient for weather protection and makes no provision for a full enclosure. |
While this may be a large sun shield, there is no visible way of closing the cockpit area for weather protection. |
